Remember that feeling when you were a kid?

Image
I'm going to be a fireman/woman when I grow up. I'm going to be a policeman/woman when I grow up. I'm going to be an astronaut when I grow up. We've either heard it or said it at some point in our lives.  But remember that feeling of saying it when you were a kid, or when your child, nephew, or niece said it. My stepdaughter wants to be an astronaut. The first thing I said there's nothing stopping you, what can I do to help you achieve your dream Not having the slightest clue into what it takes to be one, but the belief of being one was so strong that it could be seen so clearly, it's like a reality. Imagine having that kind of feeling, that kind of belief now as an adult.  Whether you're starting a new venture, working on establishing yourself, or new to a sector.  Only if you had the belief when you were a child imagine how easy it could be for you now. Why can't it though? You're all grown up and experienced life,  and understand more now than whe...

Overcome Fear and Find Success

Image
Close your eyes and imagine a life without fear. What would you do if you knew how to overcome fear? From experience, fear is the biggest obstacle that holds people back from fulfilling their true potential and becoming the best version of themselves. I have faced fear, fear of failure, fear of abandonment, fear of success, fear of not being good enough, fear, or fear. But where does this all come from? Studies claim humans are the most fearful on the planet because of our ability to learn, think, and create fear in our minds. We scare ourselves by imagining the worst possible outcomes, assuming protection from immediate danger. You have the choice: Be a victim of your own fears or be brave and push them away. So, what is Fear? I came across this acronym which reflects fear in my opinion: F alse E vidence A ppearing R eal It’s an emotion created by our minds from real or imagined threats. These imagined scenarios end up eating you inside. But here is the truth, these scenarios ne...

Goal Setting what’s the point of this?

Image
Well, let me tell you this, if you haven’t set goals, then how are you supposed to accomplish anything or have a sense of achievement? We all set goals and probably don’t realise. It could be something like; wanting to buy a car in 6 months, go on holiday, have a specific turnover in your business, pretty much anything that involves a result. When you have a result that you want to achieve is what we call a goal. You will work towards it, you will set targets to get you closer to them. For those that have achieved goals fantastic, how did you feel when you achieved them? Go and celebrate! For those that have goals and are working towards them, imagine that feeling of accomplishment and success. I bet you’re smiling just thinking about it. Because I’m smiling for you. Regardless of how long these goals may take to achieve, it’s important to have smaller goals to celebrate along the way. These are usually called milestones. This will only drive you to achieve the end of the goal, easier ...

How Do I Cope With Redundancy Emotionally?

Image
It’s not easy, if it was, I’d be lying. BUT there is a solution to it all which will leave you driven and determined more than you were before you started reading this.  I was told my job was at risk back in February 2020, it made no sense to me why my role was at risk. I was in a pretty senior role and was making all the difference in the organisation I was hired to do. So I kept thinking why me and not them?   The whole world hit with a pandemic (COVID-19) nearly everyone was asked to work from home and it all seemed like the working from home taboo was becoming a reality to organisations and quite normal to do. But I kept constantly questioning why me?   I was in week 3 of working from home and the government introduced the Furlough scheme for employers to take advantage of. Within days I was informed the consultation period was now on hold and I will be furloughed. I went into panic mode, thinking the job is at risk, with potentially being made redundant to now having...

From being Furloughed to not wasting a minute.

From being Furloughed to not wasting a minute. Leveraging the time and creating new opportunities. Why not? Sounds selfish maybe, but if you’ve got self-trust then nothing should stop you. I didn’t just sit there; I knew I had a purpose which was initially a passion I realised I possessed. It wasn’t only about me. I took the time to learn and seek how I help others realise they also have a purpose and ultimately can live a healthier fulfilling life! I created FixUpMyLife - it’s exactly what it says on the tin and I’m exactly what you’ll get to help you FixUp. Using my own life experiences and struggles throughout the years I want to give back and share exactly what I did to overcome them and how I became the person I am through simple yet effective strategies and techniques I have used and developed along the way. Yes, I’ve been through it, divorced, then remarried and became a stepfather to an outstanding stepdaughter, then to be told I had cancer, broke the news to my ...
